Aether

In the Mekkan is it believed there are two forces, matter and mana, however there is a third force known as Aether, aether is the space inbetween and is mainly governed by the Deity Luna as well as the deity Winter, the Outside is made from elements of Aether.

States

Like Mana is wielded by Mages and Wolvians control matter through Matter Manipulation, Aether can be manipulated by a few mortals who are followers of Luna, however it is the core Magic wielded by Outsiders it can be broken down into three different states.

[Eldritch/Ethereal]

This is a form of Aether in a more corporeal form, but can also be a gaseous, fluid or intangible. It's full extent is currently undocumented, but it consists of creating spatial like walls, beams and fogs, only dealing force and bludgeoning types of damage.

Fate

Unlike Fortune that bends luck and chance, Fate is able to bisect time and find futures, which to some can be a torrent and confused messed, however those that know how to look through the loom of confusing webs can make out faint paths that are more likely to be followed in relation the beings current point in time, this degree is often studied under Astrologers and follows of Luna who turn to the stars to get glimpses towards possible futures, however as Luna's new following is still drastically new, mortals often have to hypothesis about what they see and are typically wrong.

[Dreams/Reality]

Aether as it appears as a phantasmal force, which is the cause for all mortals and even deities to dream. When mortals sleep their mana activity increases which causes areas of reality to weaken allowing Aether to form into strange images that mortals perceive as dreams. In this sort of state Aether tends to absorb mana. Through the residence of sound experiments have be carried out that lets it wrap areas of reality outside of the outside and affect other realms.

Properties

Aether has a form known as Null or Inert Aether in which it appears as a solid sand like substance the entire Outside Dimension is covered in this, sometimes it has strange behaviour and forms entities, commonly it forms Nightmares. Aether is this state can also act like pseudo mana crystals, however due to it commonly being found as sand, they can barely hold mana and end up exploding and dissolving. However larger chucks sometimes form that can hold mana, than can be withdrawn. Outsiders typically use these shards to create weapons for reaping mana that leaks into the outside.

When Aether takes on a fludios or energy type form, it's can't be divided easily as is extremely dense, a pool of Aether looks very reminiscent to a night full of stars
