Vega

Vega is the homeland of the Bani people, located on the continent of Banbu to the south of the Isle of Flight. The country has several large and dense cities taking up much of the land. The areas that are not covered in dense sprawling cities are covered in farms, though the northern tip of the country is more mountainous with large bamboo forests along the border with Hunpo. The capital of Vega is Yoru.

Overview

Vega is a notably peaceful country due to treaties shared across the allied nations of Banbu. Vega takes a completely anti-war stance due to lingering regret of the Wolfsbane Invasion (281-283). The country has a mix of more modern architecture with plenty of vibrant lighting, alongside traditional architecture for some dojos, temples and other important buildings.

The climate of Vega is primarily temperate, with a reasonable mix of both sunshine and rain. Summer can be somewhat warm in Vega, though the city of Yoru tends to differ slightly from the rest of the country due to being in the middle of a large hollow dome of dark smoke caused by the Dark Gate.

Government

The Bani government is run by a council of 12 individuals, each one being the head of one of the 12 major families. One member of the council is considered the Imperial Leader of Vega, typically the leader comes from the Kamin or Kihana families, although it is not unheard of for other major families to have been given the title. The leader of Vega is in charge of leading the council and serves the purpose of implementing the decisions of the council.

Minor Families are able to attend specific council meetings in order to contribute to the governance of the country, and individuals are able to weigh in on decisions as well in order to hold the council responsible for any actions taken, ensuring the council acts in favour of the needs of the people. If it is decided that the leader or a member of the council are for any reason failing to act for the good of Vega, a challenge may be issued in which both heads involved in the challenge must battle each other and are judged by a public vote on a number of factors to decide an overall winner who will assume the role for which the challenge was issued over.

Currency

Vega shares its currency with Hunpo. Both countries use Shoots, which are made from a special type of bamboo that is difficult to grow outside of very specific conditions. Different denominations of shoots are carved with pictures of Light and Charlotte with different poses or expressions.
