Biology
As a species, Vampires are one of the least animalistic in nature. They do not have the ears or tails of animals, nor any of their traits.
At birth, Vampires are unique in that they are in a weakened state, without access to the abilities of their kind. They cannot drink blood, and can only utilise Gate Magic. Upon reaching an age where they can decide for themselves, they are allowed to drink from the Chalice of Hunger, which unlocks the abilities innate to their kind. After drinking from the chalice, Vampires gain sharper canine teeth which can puncture through flesh as though it is not there, glands develop within their mouth to inject a fluid through their teeth to numb and heal bites. Their blood becomes cold and they appear more pale, sunlight begins to burn more severely, leading many Vampires to lead an existence underground, or at night.

Marriage
Vampiric marriage has similarities to the ceremonies of other races due to cultural mixing in more recent history. A key difference in Vampiric marriage ceremonies is the concept of Blood Binding, in which a chosen Vampire of spiritual importance will make use of a special blade to slice the palms of those who are getting married, the pair will them hold the hand of the other to mix their blood. This process signifies the eternal bond of marriage between the two. The practise evolved from blood sharing between an Immortal Vampire and their lovers.
