The Staff of Fertility is the artefact of Ceres. The staff is capable of making both the land and people more fertile and as such can be used to help make unusable land become usable once again. The spherical focus is the active part of the staff, while the decorative wooden staff is primarily for show, the wood used in the staff still has the bark and resembles a perfectly formed thin branch that wraps around the focus.{{Artifact|title2 = Staff of Fertility|deity = Ceres|known_users = *Ceres

Overview

The staff is imbued with the powers of love, fertility and beauty from Ceres, these powers give it the ability to bring life to the land around it, along with making people much more fertile.

The first reliable records suggest that the staff first appeared in the year 421, when Ranger used it to repair the forest after it was burnt down in a Salamander invasion during the 5th Holy War. Stories have been passed down that suggest a beautiful cervidan (Thought to be Ceres herself) appeared on rare occasions to use the staff on the Tree of Ceres.

The staff appeared a few more times before ultimately going missing, it was recovered in the year 1502 after the focus was discovered in a cave inhabited by Mushroom Fae.

Abilities

Positive

  • The staff can revive plants from death, in the process making them stronger and more beautiful than ever.
  • It is capable of making the land it is used on much more fertile, thus making it easier to grow the highest quality crops on.
  • It can also make people more fertile, if used properly this could allow for those who may struggle to reproduce still have children.

Negative

  • If overused the staff may result in the user giving off a scent that may signify to many forest creatures or races that they are seeking to reproduce, combined with the increased fertility this may put the user in danger of being captured by centaurs or sometimes other species which could not typically reproduce with the user but due to the effects of the staff potentially now could.
