Glacian

Glacians are a type of Demon, native to colder regions of Daemus. Demonologists have not been able to successfully study them in their natural habitat, and as such their exact habitat and living conditions are not known. The existence of a species akin to Glacians has been theorised for hundreds of years, with depictions dating as far back as the first couple of centuries. Stories associated with Glacians suggest that they lure in prey and freeze them in order to feed off of them.

Overview

This form of Demon is primarily formed of ice, they are able to utilise a form of ice magic to create structures, both on and off of their body. Stories suggest that they may be ambush predators, hunting by luring in their prey and freezing them in order to feed. Other elements of their diet are not currently well known, as research into their habitats has proven unsuccessful.

The general disposition of Glacians is not currently known, as the only examples to base any research on are from fictional depictions, and a single known example living amongst other races. It is thought that they may be more aggressive due to the mythology they have established, although the lack of group sightings suggest that they may instead be more reclusive.

Biology

Glacian biology is one of the more studies aspects of their species, informed by scans of a Glacian known as Nia. Their kind seems to be primarily humanoid, with appearances commonly described as attractive. Their skin is formed of a special kind of ice that appears to sparkle beautifully in the light. Many aspects of their average size is unknown, as sample size is too small to get accurate data.

Glacians make sounds described as musical by vibrating the ice in their bodies, this is thought to be useful as a method of luring in prey. They appear to have eyesight and hearing on an equal level to species such as Vampires, suggesting that they do not live in a habitat that requires either to be more advanced. Their body appears to be possible to reshape to a limited degree, these potential changes include altering the shape of their limbs which may be an adaptation used for self-defense by many of the species.

The only Glacians recorded in mythology along with proper records are feminine in appearance, and as such it is unknown if they are a race with a bimodal sex distribution or not. It is believed based on current evidence that the female members of the species have reproductive organs akin to a typical Vampire womans. Any unique mating procedures or rituals are not currently known.

Mythology

Kitsune legends from the first couple of centuries speak of women formed of ice luring in men and killing them, some of these legends instead suggest that the Glacians will mate with those they lure in, or even form relationships with them; however, even in these legends it is common for the man who is lured in to be killed
