Charmwood Forest

{{Realm|planet = Brenna/Solara-5|deity = Ceres|guardian = Ranger|dragon = Ivy}}The Charmwood Forest (Brenna) is a planet covered by a giant forest with several large clearings, fields of flowers or overgrown caverns. The planet is home to large numbers of species created by Ceres or Ranger before they get to spread throughout the realms. Brenna is protected by a powerful Dragon known as Ivy, along Ceres and Run's child, Ranger.

Overview

Brenna is governed by Ceres and is said to be the most beautiful and fertile of all the lands, this realm is constantly filled with plants that bear fruit or flowers regardless of the season. Many species live here in different regions of the planet, many of which were created by Ceres or Ranger, sometimes at the request of other deities.

Flora and Fauna

Flora

Many of the regions are distinguished by different types of trees with some of these being more unique ones native to this planet, this is the same for many of the other plants which vary between unique or shared with other realms.

Trees such as Love Apple Trees grow in large clusters in some parts of the realm, with the second biggest example of this tree growing in a giant meadow of flowers. The largest of these trees actually exists in Buckwood at the centre of the Cervidan capital. There are several flowers that grow thought to resemble parts of the genitalia of the major races, these flowers are said to have great effects on fertility when brewed into a tea.

Many plants in this realm have magical effects, however some are purely beautiful in looks. This realm has potential dangers due to the magical plants in some locations as the forest may utilise the properties of plants to repel or neutralise those it views as dangerous. An example of such a dangerous plant is the Somnomoss, this plant has no effect on the Mushroom Fae that inhabit the caves where it grows, but can have a strong effect on many Mekkanian races when it is disturbed. Somnomoss causes hallucinations before sending someone into a deep dream filled sleep, lucky victims will be dragged from the cave by the Mushroom Fae inhabitants however the unlucky will be dragged deeper in by playful or even malicious Fae.

Fauna

There are many notable species native to Brenna, some of which have expanded into other realms. Some of the most well known of these species are the Centaur and Satyr, both of which are descendents of Ranger. Centaur can be very territorial and have been known to capture those who blunder into their territory, while Satyr are typically a more timid race, both of these races have spread out into Mekkan as well as Brenna.

Other species such as Giant Reinwolves exist, which look like giant wolves with antlers. This species is much rarer with only a small number having been seen, including Orbin. A small town of Ursans exists within the realm, with this species being adapted from the Polarians that Erin created after Ranger spent time breeding with them to expand the species, Ursans are not completely native to this realm however with only a small number of types living here.

A small portion of the forest is inhabited by the Alraune, a species of beautiful beings resembling Dryads however completely held within a giant plant, some Alraune have spread their offspring into Mekkan and these are sometimes treated like minor deities by small tribes of Cervidans, Centaur or Jungle Elves on Mekkan. On rare occasions Alraune can be quite violent by tricking those with uncontrolled lust into becoming their food, however many have realised it is more effective to establish a position of power from which they can feed off of worshippers.

Three types of Fae are native to Brenna, these are the Flower, Mushroom and Fruit Fae. Flower Fae form natural clothing from the petals of flowers that grow from their body, they are capable of flight and use their magic to pollinate flowers even more effectively than other pollinating species. Flower Fae can reproduce with many other species in a more typical way, however they can also use their power to enhance the pollen they spread in order to turn flowers into Fae or even to fertilise the eggs both in or out of the bodies of other species.

Mushroom Fae tend to live in darker caverns and have been known to be somewhat playful, occasionally dangerously so, Mushroom Fae often play tricks on those nearby and in rare occasions use them to spread their spores around to reproduce. Some groups of more malicious Mushroom Fae have been known to use toxic spores to take control of other species in order to force their body to spread spores. Mushroom Fae tend to look like humanoids crossed with mushrooms, typically with mushroom caps on their heads or growing along other parts of their bodies.

Fruit Fae have vibrant colourful bodies that resemble the colours of many fruit, they use parts of the fruit that they feed upon such as the skin to make their own clothing which is only beaten on colour by the petal clothes of flower fae. This type of fae use the seeds in many fruit to reproduce by using their magic to turn them into small eggs for their young, using the fruit as a sort of cocoon. If someone were to eat a fruit that has been fertilised by a Fruit Fae the seed would pass through them unharmed, potentially even using the body of the one who ate it in a somewhat parasitic way until the Fae is ready to be born.

Regions

Amorian Weald

Amorian Weald is the largest area of Brenna, centred around Ivy's Den. This area is a large wooded area with several different mixed types of trees, covered in a diverse range of flora and fauna. Many Centaur and Satyr villages have been established in this location in several forms, such as houses in clearings or treetop villages. Since many fruit trees grow here there is a high population of Fruit Fae too.

Pinefur Woods

This region is a smaller, though still giant part of the landscape of Brenna. This region is further north on the planet and has a naturally colder climate, with some areas even being covered in snow for most of the year. A comparatively low (next to the Centaur or Satyr of the Amorian Weald) population of Ursans and Satyr live in this region along with many cold weather animals that Ceres or Ranger have created. Giant Reinwolves are native to this region and have been known to form bonds with the native anthropomorphic species.

Florafield

Situated next to The Queendom of Petals, this area is a gigantic field of many types of flower. At the centre of this field is a Love Apple tree with a size only beaten by the Tree of Ceres. Several species such as Centaur, Ursans and Satyr, along with the more powerful Flower Fae guard this region fiercely if it is threatened due to the importance of the area in helping to birth new Flower Fae in order to help keep much of the forest alive.

The Queendom of Petals

The Queendom of Petals is a large city with houses built inside of giant hollow flowers, surrounding a castle built entirely out of living vines amongst other materials. This region is ruled by a Flower Fae Queen and inhabited by many Fae. The purpose of this Queendom is to spread and maintain plant life across the planet. Ceres, Ranger and other native species are often permitted to use the Fae Castle for official meetings.

The Undergrowth

A giant network of caves under the surface of the planet, The Undergrowth is primarily the home of Mushroom Fae and is absolutely teaming with strange and unique forms of underground plant life. It is suggested for most to avoid this region of Brenna as much of the plant life can have adverse effects on those unprepared for them. The Fae that live here can also be notoriously playful or even malicious at times which can endanger those who enter. Somnomoss is quite common in portions of these deep caverns and is sometimes used as a trap by the native Mushroom Fae to capture unwary explorers as a means to play a prank on them or even to temporarily take control of their minds to turn them into mindless slaves with the only purpose of spreading spores.

Fawncradle

Ranger's domain within the realm, this area has a notably diverse array of climates along with distinct enclosures to simulate small parts of other realms by using their flora. This area is home to many unique species that are not yet ready to be sent out to live in the realm they are intended for. Fawncradle has a small village shared between several loyal and diverse followers of Ranger at the centre of the enclosures. Typically the anthropomorphic species are not held within enclosures unless they would endanger other species or absolutely require certain conditions for their survival.
